Welcome to Cornplasters! This site will publish your own cornplasters.... if you wish! So.... WHAT IS A CORNPLASTER? A cornplaster is a term that might be recognizable to the 50 or older generation, but through time has virtually exited from the vocabulary of the average person on the street (born after 1960). The Origin of Cornplasters...
While shopping with my aunt (an octogenarian with more energy than me) in a brand new supermarket... we split up to go our separate ways.. I went to the deli dept. and she set out to search for those little oval cornpads she puts on her toes after her bath. As I returned from the deli with her liverwurst, I could hear my aunt in the distance raising her voice in her impatient tone. She was asking the young lad who worked in produce dept., "WHERE are your cornplasters?" He repeated slowly, "cornplasters".. and she affirmed.. louder "CORNPLASTERS". He looked intent on helping.. eyes squinting, lips slightly parted as his eyes slowing roamed over his entire fruit and vegetable section. He appeared to be thinking.. "This woman KNOWS what she wants... why can't I remember what a cornplaster is?"
